What Teacher OS keeps about students and guardians, why, and how to have it deleted.
What we keep
The student’s name and email, the classes they join, their grades, exam answers and attendance; the guardian’s name and email; and the consent the guardian gave, with its date, time and wording.
What we never ask for
No date of birth, no ID number (QID), no home address. A phone number only if a teacher adds one for their own records.
Why
To run the student’s classes: exams, results, attendance and study help. Guardians get emails in the teacher’s name: results, absence notes, payment reminders, progress digests and a read-only report link.
Who sees it
Each teacher sees only their own classes. Students never see another student’s name on a ranking. Velocity AI staff open a teacher’s space only read-only, and every view is logged.
AI providers
Some features send the text they need, such as an answer to be marked, to an AI model provider for that task.
How long
While the student studies with a teacher on Teacher OS. After a request the data is deleted within 30 days; marks a teacher must keep are kept without the student’s name.
Your rights
A guardian or student can ask for a copy of the data, or for it to be deleted, by replying to any email from the teacher. Guardians can unsubscribe from digests; result and consent emails can’t be switched off.
The law we follow
Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016). Most students are minors, so a guardian’s consent is recorded before an account is used.
Guardian consent
The exact wording a parent or guardian agrees to when a student signs up. Each agreement is stored with its date, time and text version.
I am this student’s parent or guardian. I agree that Teacher OS keeps the student’s name, email address, the classes they join, their grades, exam answers and attendance, together with my name and email address, so that the student’s teachers can run their classes on it. My email address is used only to send me, in the teacher’s name, results, absence notes, payment reminders, progress digests and a read-only report link. Teacher OS never asks for the student’s date of birth, ID number (QID), home address or phone number. The data is kept while the student studies with a teacher on Teacher OS and is deleted within 30 days of a request; marks a teacher must keep are kept without the student’s name. I can ask for a copy of the data, or for it to be deleted, at any time by replying to any email from the teacher.
